The Meadow Loop is an unofficial trail that was built by people who live in the Highland Heights subdivision.
It departs from the end of County Road 6661 (off of GCR 66 up from the dam on Shadow Mountain Lake). The trail can be used to travel from the neighborhood to the Colorado River near
the AA Barn, or as a loop trip to the top of Green Ridge and back. The loop passes through four meadows on its way to the top. Along the way
hikers will often encounter moose, elk, or dear, and see signs of bear, fox, and coyote. Views from the top of the loop include: Shadow Mountain Lake,
Lake Granby, and Rocky Mountain National Park.
